This paper “Voice Based Navigation System For visually Impaired People Using RFID Tag”, proposes a voice based navigation device for visually impaired people in public places. RFID tag stores the location using RFID Reader and gives audio instruction. In this article we propose a navigation system that uses RFID as the main technology to guide people with visual impairment in unfamiliar environments, both indoor and outdoor, complementing the traditional white cane and providing information about the user's geographical context.
We provided this navigation system to blind students, employees, or guests within King Saud University campus area. The technologies used in our proposed system are: the blind mobile device, RFID tags and Reader, GPS, text to speech, voice Recognition, and WiFi.A new mobile phone system architecture to aid the blind in travelling with four main units: voice/speech recognition, Global Positioning System and map services, ultrasonic sensor, and image processing service is introduced.After analyzing the research and application of actual blind navigation technologies, to solve the demands and difficulties in the blind trip, the study presents a blind navigation system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), wireless and mobile communications technologies.
